Starting with scene 1 (the first scene after the opening titles), each episode is introduced by shots of a silent and rather forlorn Mike Dean walking and cruising around San Francisco, in vain until the finale. All the others are getting it on. This somehow works well with the nostalgic and moody opening of the film (Kurt Williams alone on the beach in the cold speaking about the end of the summer) confirmed at the end.

The Young Olympians uses shots of these two guys horsing around afterward in the surf over which to show the credits.
